LLANBISTER MOTHERS UNION – Members were welcomed to the April meeting. The speaker, Anne Stocker from Llanwrtyol Wells, was welcomed and introduced. Her subject was filling shoeboxes with toys, toiletries and any small items for children abroad.
She was thanked by Janet Gower. A birthday card was signed by members for Mary Woosnam, who will be 92 in May. At the business part of the meeting members were reminded to return their Action and Outreach donation boxes in May.
The whist drive in aid of Christian Aid is on May 8, members are to visit Llandewi Church on May 13, and the deanery coffee event will be on May 19, at Evenjobb. Six members were guests of Bucknell Mothers Union in April the speaker’s subject was the Lambeth Conference. This was a very interesting talk, followed by refreshments and a raffle. Olwen Bowen thanked the Bucknell members for their hospitality.
