CLAY PIGEON SHOOT – On April 18, Checkley Clays held a clay pigeon shoot on Sufton Estate, raising £900 for the Midlands Air Ambulance. Many thanks to the organisers.
CHURCH – The annual church meeting, followed by the parochial church council meeting, was held in the church on April 28. The church wardens, officers of the PCC and members were re-elected for a further year. The new heating had been welcomed and was very satisfactory.
Currently, the church was able to meet expenses but more fund-raising would be required to maintain this position. To that end, a cream tea will be held in the church on Saturday, June 6, at 3pm and coffee mornings have been arranged for August 1, September 26, and November 28. The American-themed
