A ROSS-ON-WYE woman hopes to repay those who helped her with heart problems at a charity fund-raiser this weekend.

Former heart patient Nina Price is holding a gift and craft fair near the town on Saturday to help raise money for a new £98,000 4D Echocardiograph machine at Hereford County Hospital.

The new equipment, which works in the same way as a pregnancy ultrasound scan but is used on the heart instead, will help to treat patients across the county.

Clare Cassidy, of the British Heart Foundation, said: “We are really grateful to Nina for organising this craft fair.

“Tragically, heart failure is a massive problem in Herefordshire due to an ageing population.

“For people who are living with the condition, life can be frightening and very hard.”

The Bishopswood Village Hall fair promises 22 stalls of jewellery, pottery and woodwork and starts at 10.30am.
