THE skills of young farmers will be judged at the 65th annual county rally on Saturday, May 23.
Herefordshire Federation of Young Farmers is returning to Ballingham Hall, by permission of David and George Watkins, to stage its biggest event.
The young farmers’ showcase event will feature a wide range of traditional skills and fun competitions involving members from the 18 clubs in Herefordshire.
The programme will reflect the theme “climate change” with models made from recycled plastic bottles, bags for life, posters and cookery and floral art to raise awareness of the global issue.
There will be sheep shearing and stock judging, hand crafted barbecues and wooden dovecotes on display plus a full programme of entertainment including men’s and ladies’ tug-of-war during the afternoon.
The rally starts at 9am and finishes at around 5.30pm.
