THE number of people working for the NHS has reached an all-time high.
Staffing levels across the country are reported as 1,368,200, up two per cent from the previous year and 27.7 per cent compared to 10 years ago. The number of qualified nurses is up 2.1 per cent, midwives 2.3 per cent, consultants 3.7 per cent, doctors in training 5.1 per cent and managers and senior managers 9.4 per cent.
