KINGSTONE High School will have a new headteacher from September.
Keith Crawford is currently deputy headteacher at a school in Somerset and will replace acting head Chris King.
“I am absolutely delighted and look forward to leading the school in the next phase of its progress,” said the 52- year-old, who has also taught at schools in Devon and Hampshire.
“This is undoubtedly a very good school, where a range of improvements are already showing an impact. I intend to use my experience to build upon these improvements and see Kingstone as one of the highest performing schools in the county.”
Before entering teaching, Mr Crawford had a career in sales and marketing. He says one of the driving forces behind him entering his current profession was meeting people who wished they had done better at school.
“I see individuals at the heart of education and, in every school that I have taught, I have introduced programmes to support young people to reach their potential at the age of 16,” he said.
“I fully intend to develop a strong working relationship with the parents of Kingstone students so that we can work together to give their children the very best life opportunities.”
