BUZZIN BEES IN BROCKHAMPTON – Interested in honey bees? This could be just for you – Herefordshire Beekeepers’ Association is hosting a free workshop on various aspects of beekeeping. We hope to provide an occupied hive, so you will shown the inside of a real colony of working bees (weather permitting) and join the search for the queen. Spare bee suits are available, but wear long trousers and bring rubber or latex gloves and wellington boots.

Existing beekeepers – come along and discuss the recent threats to honey bee colonies and find out about current techniques of disease and pest control. Gardeners and farmers – find out more about your hard-working pollinators and how to safeguard their wellbeing. Everyone is welcome, there will be something of interest to all the family. We aim to give beginners and anyone who thinks they might like to take up beekeeping a chance to find out more and get some hands-on experience. Coffee and tea and ploughman’s lunches will be served.

Come along to Brockhampton Parish Hall on Saturday between 11am and 4pm. More information from Colin Pavey on 01989 740249.

FARMERS’ MARKET – The Farmers’ Market will be held at Brockhampton Village Hall (near Fownhope) today (Thursday) from 5.30pm to 7pm.

Stalls include local home-produced lamb, beef, pork, ready meals, flans, cakes, preserves, vegetables, ice cream, eggs and handmade cards.
