DILWYN SHOW – Despite a blustery start with the weather, nothing could deter the performance by the dogs in the Paws for Thought display. Jumping through hoops of blazing fire and diving into tunnels and over jumps, they set the show off to a good start.
The 13th century re-enactment group Drudion followed and, keeping in with the natural theme, Trevor Hill’s falconry display completed the morning’s main acts. Getting into the spirit of things villager Andrew Brown, armour maker, arrived fully clad in a medieval suit. The schoolchildren skipped through the crowds, a riot of colour and happiness, to the maypole, led by Andy Davies on squeeze box.
As usual, the horse and dog shows were inundated with entries and the vehicle display formed an impressive backdrop to the event. Many thanks to Elwyn and Julie Hanson for the use of their field and to all sponsors and helpers.
