DUCK RACE – The annual village duck race was held on May Day. More than 100 plastic ducks entered but the whole event was in jeopardy when, shortly before splash off, a mother duck together with her fleet of ten ducklings entered the course and appeared ready to take part.
Fortunately, they thought better of it and the event took place, with Carol Allen and Jason Hartley drawing the two winning ducks.
The evening was wound up at the community centre with 10 different puddings being available and the young people enjoying a football match.
