A CONTEMPORARY interpretation of Edinburgh’s infamous murderers Burke and Hare, The Butcher’s Yard, is written by Anthony Jenkins, a former member of The Courtyard’s Youth Theatre who recently graduated from London’s East 15 drama school.
As Burke awaits his inevitable demise at the hands of the state, the three protagonists of his fate pay their final visits to seek retribution and redemption.
Anthony is joined for the first production of his play by Pete Bird and Alex Evans, playing Burke and Hare, and by Vey Straker of 4Play.
The Butcher’s Yard can be seen at The Courtyard on Tuesday, May 19, and Wednesday, May 20, at 7.45pm. To book, call 01432 340555 or visit courtyard.org.uk.
