VACANCIES exist for retained firefighters in Herefordshire and the fire service is hosting sessions to encourage people to volunteer.
The service is looking to recruit more part-time firefighters who volunteer to be available for a certain number of hours a week and receive the same training, equipment and uniform as their full-time colleagues.
Volunteers must be over 18 years of age, be able to travel to the fire station in five minutes and be reasonably fit.
An awareness session is going to take place at Hereford Fire Station tonight at 7pm.
For further information on becoming a part-time firefighter, call 01905 368378 or visit hwfire.org.uk.
