VILLAGE HALL – Another successful Sunday lunch took place on May 17.
WHIST CLUB – The season of whist drives continues but there will only be two more before the summer break. The next one will be on Tuesday, May 26, starting at 7.45pm, followed by the last one on June 9. Prize winners on May 12 were Marie Hamlin, Muriel Fenton, Margaret Kerrigan, Nancy Griffiths, Darren Beavan, Allan Exton, Sandra Payne, Margaret Price, Jim Price and Diane Jenkins.
BREAKFAST – Come along to the Bells Inn on Saturday, May 30, and enjoy the company of other residents while partaking of a full English breakfast or, if preferred, a continental one. Everyone is welcome.
COFFEE MORNING – On Saturday, Councillor John Hope and Margaret Hope are hosting a coffee morning, which includes cake and plant stalls and a raffle. The event runs from 10.30am to noon, entrance is £1.50 and the proceeds are for the Castle Ward.
OPEN GARDENS – Mr and Mrs Jeremy Russel will be opening their beautiful gardens at Batch Cottage on Sunday, May 31, from 2pm to 5.30pm. It is regretted that no dogs are allowed.
