AFFORDABLE HOUSING – Herefordshire Council, in partnership with Festival Housing Group, would like to invite you to attend a consultation event to obtain your views on and to discuss land opportunities for affordable housing in Bosbury on Thursday, May 28, from 2.30pm to 6.30pm in Bosbury Parish Hall.
ANNUAL PARISH MEETING – The annual parish meeting for Bosbury and Coddington took place on May 7 in the parish hall. Chairman Gerald Blandford welcomed county councillor Rees Mills and CSO Alison Dore and two members of the public to the meeting.
At the parish council meeting which followed, Sven Bosley was appointed as the new chairman, with Julia Boyle as vice-chairman.
Other matters included school road safety – the school is trying to organise a walking bus and will also provide a crossing patrol and flashing lights. The next meeting of the parish council is on July 2.
BOSBURY PLAYERS – In addition to their June production of two one-act plays at the parish hall on Saturday and Sunday, June 27 and 28, music rehearsals will start shortly for Gilbert and Sullivan’s Ruddigore to be performed in the parish hall from Wednesday, November 25 to Saturday, November 28. New members welcome to the first rehearsal at 7.30pm on Monday, June 3, at Old Court, Bosbury. For details, call Robert Lane on 01531 640211.
BOSBURY PARISH HALL AGM – The AGM will take place on June 2, at 7.30pm. All inhabitants of Bosbury and the surrounding area aged 18 or over are entitled to attend.
The management committee for 2009/10 will be elected at the meeting.
Anyone interested in joining the committee would be very welcome. In particular, there is a need for someone to lead the fund-raising activities. The hall has recently been refurbished inside and out, it is financially sound and all the administrative processes have been overhauled. JUNE DATES FOR YOUR DIARY – On Friday, June 5, at 7.30pm at Holy Trinity Church Music for All, Bosbury’s annual showcase of local talent. On Trinity Sunday, June 7, at 4.30pm, strawberry teas followed at 6pm by a Festival Songs of Praise. Saturday, June 20, at the church at 7.30pm, New Orleans Tea: Jazz.
