OILSEED rape, wheat and oat management will be under the microscope at ADAS Rosemaund open day on June 2.
The event is billed as ‘Cereals of the West’ and will be held at Hillhampton, Burley Gate.
Experts hope to provide guidance to growers to get the most out of crops this season and plan ahead for the next.
Controlling disease has already proved difficult this season and ADAS researcher Jonathan Blake said it was vital to ensure control during the key post-flowering grain filling period.
“To help growers, we will be demonstrating key independent HGCA funded work on fungicide performance in wheat, barley and oilseed rape disease,”
he said.
How Optimum N rates have changed with new higher yielding varieties will be demonstrated by researchers Roger Sylvester- Bradley and Daniel Kindred.
There will also be a discussion on the impact of price changes in both grain and fertiliser.
The event will run from 11am to 4pm, admission is free and all are welcome.
