FREEMASONS in Herefordshire have donated more than £100,000 to Hereford County Hospital during the past year for new equipment as well as supporting a campaign to bring radiotherapy services to the hospital.
The latest gift has come from Delphis Lodge, which has given four chemotherapy volumetric pumps to the Charles Renton Cancer Unit.
The Worshipful Master Colin Tudor, accompanied by the Rev David Bowen, Deputy Provincial Grand Master for Herefordshire, presented the pumps to the unit on behalf of the Lodge.
Both men are outpatients at the Renton Unit, receiving chemotherapy treatment there at the present time.
Also at the presentation was Allan Lloyd, Provincial Grand Charity Steward for Herefordshire, who, with his wife Angela, spearheaded a successful radiotherapy campaign.
The service is expected to be introduced at the hospital by the year 2012.
