CRAFT FOR COWS-The Tarrington Craft Club greeted visitors to their open day with a delicious spread of homemade cake, tea and coffee as well as a colourful, varied display of their work. Proceeds of £72.00 from the sale of crafts and cakes will be sent to the charity, Send a Cow, in Africa. A £10 donation could provide four fruit tree saplings, giving a family a source of income; £25 could provide a week's worth of support for a community group; £45 could provide a farmer with the basic equipment to demonstrate techniques and provide training sessions, including a garden fork, watering can, welly boots, a spade, wheel barrow, garden rake, hoe and improved seeds, whilst a donation of £200 could transform a whole community. The Craft Club meets every Tuesday between 10.30-3pm at Tarrington village hall to enable people interested in craft to share their knowledge and experience and to support each other under the guidance of teacher Mary Needham. Enquiries to Nora Beavan 01531 640219.
