A FAMILY is recovering from the devastation wreaked by a fire at their Hereford home.
They are trying to bounce back from the blaze, in Charles Witts Avenue in Hunderton, which has left their garden looking like a “scrapyard” and saw the loss of two pet rabbits.
Firefighters spent seven hours at the scene of the fire which saw outbuildings severely damaged and family members struggling to cope with the aftermath.
Clint Huskings, whose partner and family live at the property, said: “The garden looks like a scrapyard. There is nothing apart from wood and metal.
Two rabbits in the summer house died and this has traumatised the kids.
“Our baby William has been poorly from the fire damage. He has been coughing up black stuff and we have taken him to the doctors.
“The guttering on the house has melted and more or less every window has been cracked because of the heat. It also lit our neighbour’s extension but the fire service stopped it damaging their house.”
The cause of the fire has yet to be determined but Mr Huskings suspects foul play.
“Two lads were seen running out of the back of our place,” said Mr Huskings. “Next time it might not be rabbits, it might be people they are dragging out.”
The police have asked anyone who saw any suspicious activity near the property on May 8 to call 0300 3333000.
