Tuesday, June 2nd at 10.30am. As part of the Community Commons Project, Herefordshire Council archaeologist, Chris Atkinson, is coming to Merbach Hill Common to lead an archaeology walk. During the walk, Chris will describe the various features of archaeological interest that can be found on the common.
You are most welcome to come along. We will meet at 10.30am at the start of the green lane leading to the common (on the minor road at SO 315443). We will walk up the green lane to the common and should be at the new gate where the bridleway joins the eastern edge of the common (grid ref SO 309447) by 10.40am. We will then spend the morning on the common. Please come equipped with sturdy footwear (strong shoes or wellington boots), and clothing suitable for the weather conditions on the day, including waterproofs in case of a shower.
This event is free and everyone is welcome. So that we have an idea of the number of people planning to attend, please contact Judy Hart, Community Commons Project Officer, Herefordshire Nature Trust, 01432 853205 or judy.hart@hnt-commons.co.uk.
