POLICE have issued a warning after telephone calls from bogus bank staff were thought to have been made in the Kington area.
Concerned householders contacted officers after a man asked for their bank card details and pin number in relation to an apparent court case involving banks overcharging customers.
The caller, said to have an Asian accent or similar, said they could be entitled to a refund relating to the last six years.
Police are urging people not to divulge personal information and to call anyone claiming to be from a financial company back on a customer services number already given on a statement or card.
