A HEREFORD couple have gone from loneliness to love in a matter of months after a chance speed-date.
Shawn Bevan, 26, and Sarah Mole, 31, got engaged three months after a special Valentine’s dating session at city bar Saxty’s.
Valet operator Shawn had been single for about 18 months when he popped out for a drink with friends, stumbled on the event – and finished up opposite his future wife.
“We thought it would be a laugh so we just joined in. It was absolutely easy with Sarah straight away, it wasn’t like we were under pressure to give answers and I didn’t feel it was strange at all, it felt normal and natural,” he said.
Sarah, a racehorse trainer, and Shawn quickly fell in love before Shawn popped the question last month. A wedding date has been set for this September.
They will return to Saxty’s for an engagement party tomorrow (Friday).
“It’s nice because we met there and we get on with the girls who organise it all,” Shawn said, “They will be coming to the wedding as well – it’s all their fault!”
Events and marketing manager Emma Sewell said: “They are so sweet together and it’s a lovely feeling to know you may have played a part in that,” she said.
