A POPULAR Herefordshire farrier has been appointed chairman of the Union of Country Sports Workers.
Rob Lowe, who practices in the Herefordshire and Worcestershire area, said his theme for his term in office, to cope with current issues, is “the price of freedom is eternal vigilance”.
He has been running his own farriery business since 1969, learning how to shoe horses while serving with the Rhodesian Police.
Rob ran a farriery, horsebreaking, schooling, dealing and transportation business in South Africa before coming to England in 1994.
He obtained a diploma from the Worshipful Company of Farriers in 1995.
He enjoys rough shooting, hunting and fishing and trained his own point-topointer, which he ran in the UCSW/Air Ambulance charity race at Southwell earlier this year.
