FARMERS and landowners are being advised to check out their trees on roadsides or footpaths.
The CLA is reminding them that they are responsible for the safety and management of those on their land.
If a person was injured as a result of inadequate tree management, compensation claims could be expensive and take years to settle, said CLA West Midlands director Caroline Bedell.
And be careful about working on trees with nesting birds and roosting bats, as they are protected by law.
