Spring lambs (2,142): Another excellent entry of prime lambs met a very good trade averaging 203.2p, to £90 for 45.5 (197.8p/kg). Numbers are increasing as more supermarkets turn to lambs. More buying support promised next week.

Prime hoggetts (521): A seasonal entry but the quality meated sheep are still a very good trade to 1877p/kg and a top of £85.50 (171p/kg) for 50kg. Hoggs still wanted every week as many abattoirs are still using them for home and export trade.
Overall average 170.3p/kg, top price/head £85.50 for hoggs grading 50kg.
Ewes & lambs (330): A good demand on the similar entry of 330 ewes and hoggs with their 391 lambs. The largest entry of Welsh mule hoggs with lambs sold to £160 for those with twin lambs and all singles from £130 to £145. A more variable selection of Suffolk cross hoggs with their single lambs sold to £132 with stronger sorts from £120 to £126, harder bred from £87 to £90 and light faced hoggs at £134. Quality of ewes with lambs was poorer with best sorts from £114 to £140. Other lowland couples sold from £86 to £110. Hill ewes were mostly aged although a pen of 10 two and three-year-olds with 10 lambs topped the section at £99. Aged speckle and Welsh ewes sold from £55.50 to £75 all for singles.
Cull Ewes (707): A flying trade to £94 with plenty of demand for all sorts with no sheep under £20. A lot of good Suffolk ewes on offer.

Pigs (103): The quality was poor, but the trade very fast, resulting in a total clearance.
Weaners (white) £20, (coloured) £18-£31; stores (white) £36, (coloured) £39.50; porkers (white) £58-£96, (coloured) £52-£71; bacon (farmhouse) £108-£131; feeding sows £70-£112; fat sows £110-£166; boars £90-£160.
