A WET and windy May is said to bring plenty of corn and hay.
But it means a challenge for farmers planning their crop spraying programme so they can prove the saying right.
Weather conditions recently have been against them and some of their experiences will be compared at a farm field meeting organised by Masstock Arable UK Ltd in July.
It will be held at Downton Estate, Pools House, Downton-on-the-Rock, near Ludlow, on Wednesday, July 8. There will be discussions on the current spraying season and a look ahead at autumn planting with special attention to oilseed rape and first winter wheat and winter barley.
The event is called Riding the Farming Rollercoaster and Masstock says all are welcome.
It starts at 12.30pm and finishes at 5pm with a hog roast.
