PRIMARY SCHOOL – This term, we are delighted to welcome pre-school on to the school site, sharing the new building with reception class.
We have exciting events planned to make the first experience of school for the little ones and the final term for Year 6 as enjoyable and memorable as we can.
PENTECOST – On Sunday, the fifth Sunday of the month, Ewyas Harold Group of parishes will be having a Group Holy Communion at St James Llangua at 10am and all are welcome.
At 6pm in the evening, Churches Together will be holding a service of praise at the Baptist Church.
FLOWER FESTIVAL – This year’s theme is Saints and Angels and will be held at St Devereux Church on June 5, 6, and 7, from 10.30am to 5.30pm, concluding with a Songs of Praise at 6pm on Sunday, June 7.
HISTORY DAY SCHOOL – On Saturday, June 13, in the Memorial Hall from 9am to 5pm. The subject will be Echoes of the Past: Recording Oral History. This year’s day school is being organised by Longtown and District Historical Society. The morning features talks by Roger Kitchen on recording oral history and archive film by Amanda Huntley while the afternoon offers a workshop or a choice of visits to local places of interest – Kilpeck Church, Dore Abbey, Longtown Castle, Clodock Mill and Ewyas Harold Castle. The day is rounded off by tea, kindly provided by Longtown WI. Anyone is welcome to attend. The cost of the day is £13.50.
Booking forms are available in the village shop at Ewyas Harold. The closing date for bookings is tomorrow (Friday).
