MEMBERS of the public who needed an ambulance have given the service in Herefordshire and beyond high marks for the way they were treated.
The West Midlands Ambulance Service, which covers the county, won an overall 93 points out 100 for quality in a survey.
The service did particularly well, with 85 points and some into the high 90s, for the speed of response to 999 calls, the cleanliness of ambulances and the respect and dignity shown to patients.
