TEENAGERS from across Herefordshire are being invited to help with the building of a state-of-the-art school in Leominster.
Minster College is currently being rebuilt, with Stepnell Ltd taking on the work.
Stepnell, working with Herefordshire Council, is offering youngsters from all county schools and colleges a number of work experience opportunities to give them a chance to get involved in the design and build of the new complex.
The opportunities could be in any area associated with the construction industry – including brick laying, carpentry, project management and business support.
On offer is either a week’s work experience or a work shadowing scheme, where students spend one day a week on the project over a specified period of time.
“Stepnell is providing this wonderful opportunity for our young people as part of the company’s plans to involve the local community and encourage future construction workers,” said Laura Bentley, Herefordshire Council’s 14 to 19 co-ordinator.
“Students can learn first hand what their chosen profession is really like in a proper business environment, and decide whether it’s really for them.”
Anyone interested can call Laura on 01432 260419.
