HEREFORD MP Paul Keetch says more than £86,000 worth of claims he made on his London addresses between 2004-2008 were "always in accordance with the rules".
Mr Keetch made the Daily Telegraph today (Thursday) as a footnote to the ongoing coverage of MPs expenses.
He said: "I have appeared on a general list of all MPs expenses. Any claims I made were always in accordance with the rules, I have always declared my London address as my second home."
The report - which puts Mr Keetch's salary at £64,776 - refers to the selling of his flat in Stockwell last year and the move to another address relatively close by in the inner city borough.
As a result of the move his mortgage jumped from £145,000 to £300,000.
The report says the new flat was furnished with a £690 sofa bed and a £624 wardrobe.
It breaks Mr Keetch's second home claims down to:
* 2004-05: £20,886
* 2005-06: £21,624
* 2006-07: £21,292
* 2007-08: £23,083
Total: £86,885
The listing is the first time Mr Keetch has featured in the coverage of MPs expenses.
He has told the Hereford Times he will make full details of his claims available to the paper once he receives those details from the Parliamentary Fees Office.
