DETECTIVES investigating an armed robbery at a remote bungalow in a Herefordshire village are to turn their attentions to BBC’s Crimewatch tomorrow night.

Three men threatened 69-year-old Vaughan Price with a hand gun at about 2pm on Wednesday April 8 at the property in Upper Sapey They stole gold coins, as well as several Rolex watch that Mr Price was wearing, several gold rings, including a signet ring and his wedding ring, and a gold necklace.

Mr Price deals with collectable currency via the internet and was left bruised and very shaken after his ordeal.

His wife was not at home at the time of the robbery.

Crimewatch have recorded a reconstruction of the events and Detective Sergeant Nick Shutt, who is leading the investigation, will be seen interviewed on the programme, which airs on BBC1 at 9pm.

He said: “This type of crime is very rare in Herefordshire but we need the public’s help to trace the offenders.

“Anyone with information should get in touch as soon as possible.

“This was a nasty robbery and a frightening experience for Mr Price.

“We hope that the Crimewatch appeal will help us bring these offenders to justice.”

Two of the men are described as white, in their 20’s, slim build and about 5ft 9ins tall.

They were accompanied by a large Asian man aged about 40, 6ft tall.

All were wearing grey boiler suits, black woolen gloves and black woolen balaclavas.

It is believed that one of the white men held the gun.
