FARMING UK’s Open Farm Sunday falls this weekend.
At Mount Pleasant Farm, Kingswood, Steve and Laila Dudhill will show visitors round the farm and introduce them to pedigree Hereford cattle, traditional breed pigs, Shire horses, Soay sheep, and chickens, ducks and geese.
At Whyle House at Pudleston, near Leominster, Frances and Andy Offer, who specialise in sheep, will put on a lamb roast during the afternoon.
Visitors will see how the farm is run and there will be tractor and trailer rides for children.
There will be an open day at White Haywood Farm and Restaurant at Craswall, near Hay-on-Wye, with June, Philip and Pauline Goodwin opening their gates. Visitors will be given a guided tour to see how and where food is produced, get to see cattle, sheep, pigs and machinery and look at the work of some environmental schemes on the farm.
Details of all open farms can be found on farmsunday.org.
