A HANDFUL of Bromyard buildings are going on the tourist trail thanks to a local council.
Plans to install blue plaques on 10 historic buildings have been provisionally accepted by Herefordshire Council.
Their locations must be finalised by Bromyard Town Council, which has received listed building consent.
“The order hasn’t gone through yet because we’ve got to finalise it, but they will be up for the summer," said Mike Cresswell, town clerk.
The Old Gaol, Bible House and Dumbleton Cottage are among the highlighted venues, to be linked by a tourist trail and leaflet.
Councillors originally wanted 16 plaques, but were told by planning officers that some would be too intrusive.
The scheme has been funded by the Better Welcome Scheme, while new signs and picnic benches will also be provided.
