PARISH COUNCIL – At the annual meeting, Ashperton councillors elected Andrew Hammond as their chairman for the coming year. He will be supported by Coun Frieda Helme, who will act as his deputy. Roland Eustace discussed local footpaths following his appointment as the parish footpaths officer.
PARISH FREIGHTER – The Parish Freighter, an opportunity for residents to dispose of unwanted household goods, has been booked for the village for August 8. This is a free service and more details will appear later.
SCHOOL FETE – Ashperton Primary School’s traditional summer fete will be on Saturday, June 13, from 2pm to 5pm. Admission £2 per person but preschool children go free. The event will include the school’s bird of prey display.
