100 CLUB DRAW – The sixth draw will be tonight (Thursday) at 8pm in the Red Lion Hotel, Bredwardine. You do not need to be present to win, but it is so much more fun if you are there.
Gilbert and Jeannette will be our hosts and perform the draw honours!
VICTORIAN FAIR – Bredwardine & Brobury Victorian Fair is on Sunday, June 14, from 2pm to 6pm, in the beautiful gardens of Brobury House.
Attractions which will include period dress, gipsy dance, fortune telling, Gilbert & Sullivan singers, brass band, treasure hunt, raffle, stalls, games and more. Plus tea, cakes and ice cream.
Admission is £3 for adults, £1 for children.
Proceeds in aid of St Andrew’s Church and the village hall.
EVENSONG – Our monthly sung Evensong at St Andrew’s will be this Sunday at 6pm. Experience the ringing of the newly restored bells.
MOBILE LIBRARY – The mobile library is due to visit on the following Tuesdays: June 9, June 30, July 21, August 11. It will stop at the Brobury layby, across from Brobury House, at 1.30pm and stay for 15 minutes.
Availability of books can be checked using a computer link to the main library if you are interested in a certain book or author.
You do need a library card to use this facility, which the mobile staff can assign for you during their visit. All enquiries to Clare on 01432 260645 or via clockley@ herefordshire.gov.uk. Alternatively, visit libraries.herefordshire.gov.uk MERBACH COMMONS WORK DAY – Merbach work day will be held on Friday, June 12.
As well as clearing vegetation from some sections of path, work will continue on building steps on the steep and slippery section of the path that leads up through the woodland in the north-eastern corner of the common.
Meet at 10am at the entrance gate to the common next to Pendle Cottage (formerly Hicockolorum).
