HEALTHY SCHOOLS WEEK – Pupils of Gladestry Primary School have been focusing on health and fitness.
As part of Healthy Schools week, the youngsters have been involved in a varied programme of events, all aimed at keeping fit and staying healthy. For one week every morning at 9am children, parents and teachers held an exercise and movement class. The exercises were devised by pupils and performed to pop music. The youngsters made healthy snacks in cooking and some of them built a den outside for use as a quiet area. A talent competition involving exercise and designing a five-a-day mascot – a rabbit made from fruit and vegetables – were also included in the children’s busy week.
