Residents in Tarrington will have their say about the future of the community at a special day in Lady Emily Community Hall.

The Planning for Tarring-ton event is on Saturday, July 16, from 10am to 4pm.

It is the next stage in the village's development of a Parish Plan.

Spokesman Mary Feith said: "Flyers have been distributed to every home in the village inviting everyone to drop in some time during the day.

"A greatly enlarged map of the parish will be on display, showing in detail every lane, house, footpath and field.

"Suggestions are placed on this map in the form of small flags, giving details of what is proposed.

"For example, more footpaths, a new bus stop, a local health clinic, less traffic and an area for skateboarding.

"People can make as many suggestions as they wish and everyone living in the parish has an equal voice, including the children."

Another highlight is a painting competition for youngsters aged 10 and under, who will be challenged to paint a scene of Tarrington.

Young people aged up to 18 will be invited to use disposable cameras and take part in a Tarrington photography competition.

There will also be a raffle and refreshments will be available.
