Eastnor III v HEREFORDIANS
Eastnor completed a double over Herefordians with a massive 171-run win in this Flint & Cook Marches division five encounter.
Put into bat, the villagers lost two quick wickets to M D Graves with only eight runs scored.
Nick Haggar (26) pumped up the rate before becoming Graves' third victim at 44-4 off just eight overs.
Then youngsters James Febery (33) and Tom Watkins (18) added 56 good runs to push the total on to 100, when Watkins fell.
Febery followed at 109 before skipper John Taylor came back to form and, with Joel Skyers (21), put on a further 45.
A 49 run stand with Jamie Onions took the score on to 203 before he was bowled by M L Graves for 66 (one six, ten fours). Onions (27no) and Lewis Hodges (12no) then added 35 runs at the death. The total: 238-8.
Herefordians' captain Ed Thomas (30) held his side together and 19 runs were on the board in four overs before Eastnor struck back. A good catch by Carl Wildig off Febery dismissed Brett. M L Graves was bowled by Watkins and a good throw from Joel Skyers ran out Wilcox for 23-4.
Thomas became the first of Taylor's victims at 58 but Sewell (16no) batted on well.
Three wickets fell in five balls from Taylor, aided by wicketkeeper McTear, who also stumped Edwards.
The final nail in the coffin came from Tim Febery with a superb right-foot shot to son James to run out S Wilcox. Taylor finished with 4-6 and James Febery 3-27.
Next Saturday Eastnor entertain top-of-the-table Strollers.
