A ROMAN curio, found in 1986 at Credenhill, is in the TV spotlight when Channel 4's Time Team's Big Roman Dig focuses on Herefordshire next Monday and Tuesday from 8pm to 9pm.
What the 12-sided, cast-copper object was used for has long sparked debate among academics. Only a handful of dodecahedrons of its kind have been discovered.
Viewers will be voting to help solve this mystery and others. For more information on activities contact Hereford Museum and Art Gallery, Judy Stevenson or Nina Hely-Hutchinson, on 01432 260692.
Meanwhile, the TV live broadcast team will be looking for traces of a Roman bridge, road and settlement at the National Trust's property, The Weir, near Kenchester.
County archaelogist Dr Keith Ray said: ''This is a rare opportunity to look closely at such an important Roman site.''
Anyone wanting a first-hand look at the results of the dig can visit the site on a public open day - Saturday, July 9 - from at 11am. The Weir Garden will be open as usual.
