A Ledbury charity fundraiser tackled a series of mountain peaks in Snowdonia, in nothing but his underpants and boots.
When Nigel Kitney set off on his 15-peaks challenge at 3.30am on Saturday, June 18, chilly hill fog was a factor to contend with and he dressed in cold weather clothing.
But as the sun climbed higher, he decided that "any ladies would have to look the other way" and stripped down to the bare essentials.
"I had forgotten to bring my shorts," said Mr Kitney, who said the heat was such that he even called into a few mountainside pubs on the way, still in his underwear, to obtain much-needed refreshment.
In all, Mr Kitney tackled the last five peaks in his underpants, reaching the summit of Snowdon at 7.30pm.
"Snowdon was steep, airless and humid," he said. "When I got down, I was more exhausted that I had ever been in my life and did not want to tackle the 15-peaks challenge again. Now, I wouldn't mind having another go."
Mr Kitney completed the 13,500ft of climbing in just 16 hours. Bad weather, in this case wind and rain, had forced him to postpone an earlier attempt.
He took on the challenge to raise funds for Ataxia UK, a condition that affects his boss, Denzil Stones, and which can result in a loss of co-ordination and sense of balance.
At this stage, Mr Kitney is not sure how much sponsorship he has raised.
"I'm still collecting it in," he said.
