EASTNOR III v HAY
The visitors started well as J Daw (30) and J Provis (20) put on 44 for the first wicket in 11 overs before Provis fell to the first of three catches by Tipton.
Tipton was there again ten overs later to catch Daw off Taylor, who claimed Masters next ball as Hay fell to 77-4.
Tight bowling by Nick Haggar (3-36) and John Taylor (4-34), helped by good catches from McTear, Jamie Onions and that man Tipton again, kept the runs down. With James Febery bowling T Ara in the 38th over, Eastnor needed 116 runs for victory.
Despite Cliff Tipton (17) and Adam McTear (19), Eastnor started badly before the tea interval, losing five wickets in ten overs to brothers Joe and Mike Provis.
After tea, two more quick wickets fell at 44-7. Laurie picked up the wicket of Taylor and Haggar and at 48-9, all was lost.
However, youngsters Jamie Onions (8no) and Lewis Hodges (11) put on a spirited 19 runs at the death before M Provis ended the game.
The Provis brothers both claimed four wickets each.
Tomorrow (Saturday), Eastnor thirds are away at Herefordians.
