Hereford director of football Graham Turner has been forced to revise his thoughts about the size of his squad after the Nationwide Confer-ence's decision to impose a transfer window, writes Richard Prime.
In line with other major competitions, the Conference will now only permit signings in January after the window closes on August 31.
"We are now thinking of a squad of 22 whereas before it probably would have been 18 at the start," said Turner. "I'm sure the changes in the rules will put a strain on some clubs but fortunately we have the scope to increase our squad."
The latest addition to the Bulls' line-up, former Exeter City full-back Alex Jeannin has now signed a two-year contract and Turner has also agreed deals with two more ex-League players. But details will not be released until their current contracts expire.
With Conference fixtures due out today (Thursday) and Hereford due to resume training next Wednesday, there is good news on the Bulls' two injured players.
Jamie Pitman is off to Lilleshall next week to continue his rehabilitation while punctured lung victim Simon Travis should be able to take part in some of the training next week.
"The other players have been working with fitness coach Tony Ford so we expect them to come back in good shape," said Turner.
