CHRISTIAN AID - House to house collections raised £934.76, tax reclaimed £126.10, coffee morning £298.61, giving a grand total of £1,359.47.

PRIMARY SCHOOL - An exhibition of children's work including models, painting and photography, is under way and will run in the school hall until tomorrow (Friday).

All speed to the pupils who will be competing in the Golden Valley Athletics next Tuesday, at Kingstone School.

CHEESE AND WINE - Tim Longden a local falcon enthusiast, is due to talk about the importance of falconry to the countryside and will be bringing some of his birds with him.

The evening starts at 7pm, tickets are £5 and include a glass of wine and nibbles.

PILGRIMAGE - The annual pilgrimage from Dore Abbey to Craswall Priory is due to take place on Saturdaym at 10.30am.

Participants can meet at Dore Abbey for a leisurely walk along fields and lanes to Bridge Inn, Michaelchurch Escley, arriving about 1.15pm.

Bar snacks available or plenty of places to picnic beside the river.

After lunch, a cross country to Craswall Church, then, after a short pause, continue to Craswall Priory arriving about 4.30pm.

Refreshments will be followed by Evensong, at 5.30pm, led by Mr Graham Bennett, a licensed Lay Reader who has walked in previous years.

SONGS OF PRAISE - featuring trombonist Roger Tomlinson, the Songs of Praise-style event is due to be held at the Weir on Sunday, at 8pm. Light refreshments will follow.

COMMUNITY SUPPORT OFFICER - A chance to meet the local officer, report incidents, discuss problems and seek advice on personal and home security takes place with a surgery next Wednesday, in Horsecroft Lounge, 2-4pm and every following Wednesday .

COFFEE EVENING - Next Wedneday, at 7pm, in aid of Macmillan nurses, at 1 Callowside, Ewyas Harold.
