Hereford Rowing Club's successful men's veteran C coxed four continued their winning ways at the Ironbridge Sprint Regatta.
The crew of Rod Phillips, Keith Lawrence, Richard Bissell and Phil Hart, coxed by Daniel hart, beat Grosvenor and Worcester to reach the final where they comfortably saw off Northwich to record Hereford's only win of the weekend.
But they were almost joined by the men's senior coxed four of Russell Williams, Andy Osbourne, Tom Probert and Ollie Tomlinson, coxed by Lucy Edwards, who missed out on a win by just a foot in a thrilling final.
Chris Honey was also a runner-up after losing out to a strong sculler from Tyne RC in the final of the men's junior 15 single sculls.
Steph Bissell reached the semi-final of the women's junior 14 single sculls before losing out to the competition's winning sculler, from Stourport.
Ross RC had an even more successful time than their county rivals with wins in three events.
Malin Ericcson came home first in the ladies' sculls while women's junior 15 sculler Amy Perkins took the top prize in her event as did the ladies' eight, which Perkins also coxed.
There was disappointment, however, for the Ross coxed four at Henley who finished outside of the seven qualifying places for the Britannia Cup.
