IT will be anchors aweigh for 25-year-old Royal Naval officer Emily Slayman, from Dilwyn, when she joins her ship, HMS Ocean, for the Fleet Review at Plymouth next Tuesday.
Sub-Lieut Slayman, a former head pupil at Hereford Cathedral School, is passing out today (Thursday) from Royal Naval College Dartmouth as a logistics officer just in time to be part of the Trafalgar 200 event.
She will be aboard one of the 40 British ships to be joined by naval ships from all over the world in a seapower salute taken by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth.
It will also be a great week for Emily's parents, Mike and Jo Slayman, of Dilwyn, who will be attending both ceremonies.
Mrs Slayman said: ''This is the first Fleet Review of its kind during the Queen's reign and we are looking forward to being part of such an historic occasion. We are very proud of Emily and will be cheering her on."
