A LIVELY and wide-ranging debate about food and health was the centrepiece of a hugely successful Macmillan fund-raising day at Broadfield Court last Monday.
The Food Life Health event proved extremely popular, with a unanimous thumbs-up offered by everyone who attended.
"Without exception, people were asking if we'd be doing it again next year," said Macmillan fund-raiser Ron Davies.
With a range of stalls providing a taste of local produce and a selection of complementary therapists demonstrating the benefits of their treatments, the only problem for visitors was deciding what to try first.
A debate featuring the River Caf's Rose Gray attracted a full house and created plenty of discussion about nutrition and healthy eating in relation to children and those living with cancer.
"It was an absolutely fantastic day, and unlike any other we've seen in Herefordshire," said Mr Davies.
Organiser Rosanna Bulmer got her inspiration for the event from a doctor who gave an impassioned speech to Macmillan committee members about how beneficial complementary therapies could be when used in conjunction with conventional treatment.
