green polythene aimed at reducing glare and visual impact from polytunnels is on trial at Haygrove fruit farm, near Ledbury.

Farmer Angus Davison said: "It tends to slow the growing process because it lets through less light. However, if the benefits outweigh the disadvantages, more growers may start to use the coloured plastic."

Mr Davison agreed with Herefordshire Council to try the new coloured plastic, during discussions last year over the revised code of conduct for polytunnels.
