HEREFORDSHIRE under-10s recorded a fine 26-run victory over Shropshire at Ludlow last weekend. Herefordshire scored 150-5 off their 35 overs and then restricted the home county to 124-9.
Billy Oliver was the leading light in the first innings, stroking eight fours in a fine innings of 52. He shared a fifth-wicket stand of 76 with George Mokler (24) after the pair came together at 68-4.
Accurate bowling by Tom Parry (2-18), Joe Crichard (2-18) and Mokler (2-19), backed up by some good fielding that accounted for three wickets to run-outs, kept the Shropshire reply in check. They were unable to shift C Glendinning who batted throughout the Shropshire innings for an undefeated 32.
