LEARNING mentor at Blackmarston School Joy Bishop took the bull by the horns in a recent attempt to raise the profile of both the school and special needs education.
Organising a fashion show at Hereford Courtyard involved members of staff, pupils, parents, and children and spouses of staff stepping on to the catwalk.
Clothes were modelled from Hereford's Dorothy Perkins, Country Casuals, Ladybird at Woolworths and Blacks - to represent fashion for the whole family.
Video footage showing activities at the school and work at Acorns, where some pupils have access, showed visitors what goes on.
Over £1,400 was raised on the evening, which was shared with Acorns Children's Hospice.
"I was really chuffed with the enthusiasm and support of the shops and quite overwhelmed by the response on the night," Joy said.
"For a small school it was quite an ambitious project and we are thrilled to have pulled it off."
