TWO 66-year-old workers employed by a Hereford dairy headed the list of county long service awards at the Three Counties Show.
Neville Foster and Dennis Wheatsone, both of Green Street, Hereford, collected awards for 50 years' service with T S Matthews and Son, of Bartonsham Farm Dairy.
The awards are only given to the employees of show society members who have completed 30 years or more continuous service with the same employer or on the same holding. Mr Foster was presented with a cup, silver bar and medal and Mr Wheatsone received a silver bar and medal.
A silver medal went to Peter William Smith, of Cropthorne Cottage, Dymock, for 40 years as a horticultural craftsman for John and Janet Chapman of Reddingend Fruit Farm, Much Marcle.
Bronze medals were presented to head gardener David Myers, 63, of Garden Cottage, Ledbury, for 33 years with Dr the Hon G Greenall, of Bromesberrow Estate, Ledbury, and farm worker Henry Preece, 48, of Russets Close, Deerpark, Ledbury, employed by M and G Blandford, of Stragwood Farm, Coddington, Ledbury, for 30 years.
