A LETTER of genuine appreciation in acknowledgement of the courtesy and decorum of the reception received when members of the Probus Club of the City of Hereford and their wives visited the Mayor's Parlour and Silver Vaults of the Town Hall, Hereford, on Thursday, June 2.
Sincere thanks are extended to the Right Worshipful Mayor and Mayoress, Councillor Mrs Marcelle Lloyd-Hayes and Mrs Sandie Taylor, and all the staff. The people of Hereford can be justly proud of the history and heritage associated with the office of the 624th Mayoral First Citizen, the splendid ceremonial regalia, the impressive items held within the Silver Vaults, and the ancient Charters and Letters Patent which are of special interest, the earliest of which is dated October 9, 1189.
The City motto given by Charles 1 Invictae Fidelitatis Praemium - Reward for faithfulness unconquered - will be truly reflected in the honour and dignity awarded to the office by the present Right Worshipful the Mayor of Hereford Councillor Mrs Marcelle Lloyd-Hayes.
ALLAN LLOYD, President, The Probus Club of the City of Hereford.
