Ledbury scored five goals without reply in a very one-sided West Midlands League premier division match at New Street on Saturday.

EDBURY TOWN 5, PELSALL VILLA 0

Ledbury took the game to Pelsall Villa from the start and on the half-hour mark notched their first. Neil Gardiner jinked his way into the box and netted from an acute angle.

With Craig Humphries in the Ledbury goal a virtual spectator, the hosts laid siege to Pelsall in the second half with efforts from Robbie Colwell and Steve Olczak cleared off the line and a superb fingertip save from a Stuart Smith drive.

Ledbury doubled the lead when top-scorer Robbie Colwell blasted home from 12 yards. With Nathan Haisley covering every blade of grass in midfield, Ledbury were rarely troubled.

Lee Hooper added a fine brace when he first tapped home from six yards out and then clinically finished following good work by Dave Skipp.

With ten minutes remaining Stuart Hall released Dave Skipp on the right and he raced into the box and confidently slid the ball under the keeper from ten yards to cap an impressive debut.

Tomorrow (Saturday) Ledbury Town are away at mid-table Smethwick ST (2.45pm).
